December 2024 Prayer Letter

December 4, 2024

Dear Family and Friends,

First and foremost, I thank God for His faithfulness throughout the last 12 months. I’m also grateful and blessed by all your prayers and financial support. The necessary funds to facilitate the Pastor/Leader Conference was completely covered by your kindness and generosity.

Once again, the Pastor/Leader Conference achieved our much prayed for goals of reaching and teaching approximately 600 attendees, which includes spiritual leaders and their family members who represented five tribes of indigenous peoples. Along with Bible teachings there were two hands-on training workshops. Sixty-five men participated in the chainsaw/small motor repair class, while seventy-two women learned basic sewing skills.

The entire conference was above and beyond a great success. The grace and peace God gave us from start to finish was undeniable! Praise God!!

The main theme of the conference was entitled, “Rooted in the Word, of Christ Jesus”. Colossians 2:7. The teachers presenting this program were, Ed Braurer, Pete Emery, Glenn Goffin and Bob Insera.

Read highlights below from each one.

This year the Conference saw the awesome return of Pete Emery to San Lorenzo. So many participants were blessed and encouraged as he recounted his testimony of last year. Pete felt unwell just as the teaching program began. The symptoms progressed and we recognized his situation was serious. It was quickly decided that he return home immediately for a proper medical evaluation and, as it turned out, hospitalization. Everyone was overjoyed to see him return to  Peru and thankful for his truly miraculous recovery. I have witnessed that the five attending tribes have grown remarkably unified since our last gathering. They share in the communion table together and in the study of God’s Word. Their hunger and zealous desire for the scripture was a powerful inspiration to all in attendance.
Praise Our Lord from whom all blessings flow.

Pete Emery, Director of Missions at CCCentral Bucks shares his conference experiences:

As we were traveling on the Marañon River to San Lorenzo, I went out to the bow of the boat to get some air. Immediately Christian, the first mate, came up to me and asked what it meant to be baptized. After a good conversation with Christian, I informed Clif of the news about his eagerness to be baptized. We then decided to stop the boat on a sand bar and Christian was baptized right there on the river bank. Praise the Lord! Just as Philip did with the Ethiopian in the book of Acts 8:26-40.

I consider myself blessed and honored to be fostering relationships with the attending pastors. They have shared stories of their struggles to encourage their church families and others in their faith walk with Jesus. During the conference I could feel the fire of excitement and the Spirit encouraging them to push forward. May the Holy Spirit guide them, continue to drive their passion, and fan the flames when they return home.

Glenn Goffin, Elder at CCCentral Bucks, shares his first conference experience in Peru :

One high point was the Thursday night communion service. As we passed out the bread and the cup, most of the men received without hesitation. The women, however, did not reach out immediately but gazed only forward. At first I thought that they might have chosen not to partake. I moved the platter closer and held it there in front of them. After a long pause, the women would look at me and take a piece as though they were waiting for permission to receive. A break-through of sorts. It was made all the more meaningful when we ALL- men and women TOGETHER – five different tribes – partook of the bread and the cup – extending the cup in unison. A room full of outstretched arms with the “blood of Christ” covering us. It seemed like a scene from heaven! There was great joy in the room and unity of the Holy Spirit. The smallest rooms in the smallest towns in the midst of the deep, dark Peruvian jungle became heaven on earth and I will never forget it!!!!

Bob Inserra from CCStroudsburg, shares his first conference experience in Peru:

It was my first time in Peru.  I am thankful for the privilege to have shared in the ministry of the gospel along with my brothers in Christ, Clif, Ed, Glen, Pete and all the local leaders. They were all with great unity, singleness of purpose, and ministering to all the participants at the conference.

One highlight was seeing the Holy Spirit moving the Pastor/leaders who joined in fervent prayer for two pastors who had received news while at the conference of the loss of loved ones at home. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them…Matthew 18:20
It was encouraging to see the hunger for God’s Word, as many came forward to copy the scripture reference from each session. I can’t wait to see what great harvest the Lord will bring forth in each of the tribes and villages. Thanks for all your prayers and support.

As we more forward into 2025 we are blessed to have you as a friend and partner.

Thanking God daily!!
God Bless you,
Clif
